"The heart becomes corrupt in six ways:

1] Committing sins in the hope of repenting (later on in life),

...[2] Seeking knowledge and not applying it,

[3] Practice without ikhlas [i.e. sincerity],

[4] Eating the sustenance of Allah without thanking Him for it,

[5] Not being pleased with Allah's decree,

[6] Burying the dead without learning from them."

Common Islamic Phrases You Need To Know

IN SHA' ALLAH When a person wishes to plan for the future, when he promises, when he makes resolutions, and when he makes a pledge, he makes them with permission and the will of Allah. For this reason, a Muslim uses the Qur'anic instructions by saying "In Sha ' Allah." The meaning of this statement is: "If Allah wills." Muslims are to strive hard and to put their trusts with Allah. They leave the results in the hands of Allah.

INNA LILLAHI WA INNA ILAHI RAJI'UN When a Muslim is struck with a calamity, when he loses one of his loved ones, or when he has gone bankrupt, he should be patient and say this statement, the meaning of which is : "We are from Allah and to hom we are returning." Muslims believe that Allah is the One who gives and it is He takes away. He is testing us. Hence, a Muslim submits himself to Allah. He is grateful and thankful to Allah for whatever he gets. On the other hand, he is patient and says this expression in times of turmoil and calamity.

JAZAKALLAHU KHAYRAN This is a statement of thanks and appreciation to be said to the person who does a favor. Instead of saying "thanks" (Shukran), the Islamic statement of thanks is to say this phrase. Its meaning is: " May Allah reward you for the good." It is understood that human beings can't repay one another enough. Hence, it is better to request Almighty Allah to reward the person who did a favor and to give him the best.

KALAM Talk or speech as in "kalamu Allah"; has also been used through the ages to mean logic or philosophy.

LA HAWLA WA LA QUWWATA ILLA BILLAH The meaning of this expression is: " There is no power and no strength save in Allah." This expression is read by a Muslim when he is struck by a calamity, or is taken over by a situation beyond his control. A Muslim puts his trust in the hands of Allah, and submits himself to Allah.

LA ILAHA ILLALLAH This expression is the most important one in Islam. It is the creed that every person has to say to be considered a Muslim. It is part of the first pillar of Islam. The meaning of which is: "There is no lord worthy of worship except Allah." The second part of this first pillar is to say: "Muhammadun Rasul Allah," which means: "Muhammad is the messenger of Allah."

MA SHA' ALLAH This is an expression that Muslims say whenever they are excited and surprised. When they wish to express their happiness, they use such an expression. The meaning of "Ma sha' Allah" is: "Whatever Allah wants." or "Whatever Allah wants to give, He gives." This means that whenever Allah gives something good to someone, blesses him, honors him, and opens the door of success in business, a Muslim says this statement of "Ma Sha' Allah." It has become a tradition that whenever a person constructs a building, a house, or an office, he puts a plaque on the wall or the entrance with this statement. It is a sign of thanks and appreciation from the person to Almighty Allah for whatever he was blessed with.

MUHAMMADUN RASULULLAH This statement is the second part of the first pillar of Islam. The meaning of this part is that Prophet Muhammad is the last and final prophet and messenger of Allah to mankind. He is the culmination, summation, purification of the previous prophets of Allah to humanity.

P.B.U.H. These letters are abbreviations for the words Peace Be Upon Him which are the meaning of the Arabic expression " 'Alaihis Salam", which is an expression that is said when the name of a prophet is mentioned. This expression is widely used by English speaking Muslims. It is to be noticed here that this expression does not give the full meaning of "Salla Allahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam". Therefore it is recommended that people do not use (p.b.u.h.) after the name of prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.); they should use "Salla Allahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam" instead, or they may use the abbreviated form of (s.a..w) in writing.

RADHIALLAHU 'ANHU (RA) This is an expression to be used by Muslims whenever a name of a companion of the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.) is mentioned or used in writing. The meaning of this statement is: "May Allah be pleased with him." Muslims are taught to be respectful to the elderly and to those who contributed to the spread and success in Islam. They are to be grateful to the companions of the prophet (s.a.w.) for their sacrifices, their leadership, and their contributions. Muslims are advised to use this phrase when such names are mentioned or written.

SALLALLAHU 'ALAIHI WA SALLAM When the name of Prophet Muhammad (saw) is mentioned or written, a Muslim is to respect him and invoke this statement of peace upon him. The meaning of it is: "May the blessings and the peace of Allah be upon him (Muhammad). Another expression that is alternatively used is: "Alaihissalatu Wassalam." This expression means: "On Him (Muhammad) are the blessings and the peace of Allah." Allah has ordered Muslims, in the Qur'an, to say such an expression. Muslims are infoormed that if they proclaim such a statement once, Allah will reward them ten times. S.A.W. These letters are abbreviations for the words "Salla Allahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam".

SUBHANAHU WA TA'ALA This is an expression that Muslims use whenever the name of Allah is pronounced or written. The meaning of this expression is: "Allah is pure of having partners and He is exalted from having a son." Muslims believe that Allah is the only God, the Creator of the Universe. He does not have partners or children. Sometimes Muslims use other expressions when the name of Allah is written or pronounced. Some of which are: "'Azza Wa Jall": He is the Mighty and the Majestic; "Jalla Jalaluh": He is the exalted Majestic. S.W.T. These letters are abbreviations for the words of "Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala".

WA 'ALAIKUMUS SALAM This is an expression that a Muslim is to say as an answer for the greeting. When a person greets another with a salutation of peace, the answer for the greeting is an answer of peace. The meaning of this statement is: "And upon you is the peace." The other expressions are: " Wa Alaikums Salam Wa Rahmatullah." and "Wa 'Alaikums Salam Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh."

The abbreviation after Allah (SWT) means "Subhana Wa Tala" in Arabic which means "The Sacred and The Mighty" in English.

The abbreviation after Prophet Muhammad (SAW) means "Sal Allahu Allahi Wa Salam" in Arabic which means "May the Peace and Blessings of Allah (God) be upon him" in English.

The abbreviation (AS) means "Alayhi Salam" in Arabic, which means "May Allah (God) bless him" in English.

The abbreviation (RA) means "Radiy Allahu Anhu" in Arabic, which means "May Allah (God) be pleased with him" in English. This abbreviation has many variations depending on the gender and how many companions are being talked about. For example, (RA) meaning "Radiy Allahu Anha", in English "May Allah be pleased with her."

Is This Sister Going to Jannah? 8/10

The Messenger of Allaah (sallaAllaahu alayhi wa sallam) said:

Of the people of Hell there are two types whom I have never seen, the one possessing whips like the tail of an ox and they flog people with them. The second one, women who would be naked in spite of their being dressed, who are seduced (to wrong paths) and seduce others with their hair high like humps. These women would not get into Al-Jannah and they would not perceive its odor, although its fragrance can be perceived from such and such distance. Saheeh Muslim

A humble Request To All Brothers & Sisters.!!

Muslims, ask yourself a Question:

Why am I on Facebook??

Is it to have a useless chit chat with non-mahrams ? Play fb games all day ? Put up pics without Hijab & pose for the world ? Watch movie clips & music videos ? Or for a better purpose - to give & take Islamic knowledge??

Check yourself before you wreck yourself!

A true Muslim knows the value of time!! Take advantage of Facebook in earning rewards & seeking knowledge!! There is so much of good Islamic stuff available out here on FB. Don't waste your time on silly things. And then you complain I don't have time for reading about Islam!!

Looks like you have forgotten that Dawah is an obligation upon every Muslim according to his/her ability.

If you do not possess enough knowledge of the Deen, then what is stopping you from gaining it? Isn't that an obligation too? Is it difficult for you to even copy/paste 1 hadith or 1 ayah from the Qur'an for your non-muslim friends?? A wise person will take advantage of these opportunities. Alhamdulillaah, Allah has made it so easy for you but you alone shut the doors to gain reward. This is a good chance for you to share the Message of Islam to the World.

Muhammad (PBUH) said "Convey (the message) From Me Even If Only One Verse."

"Andwho is better in speech than he who invites to Allah and does righteous deeds, and says: 'I am one of the Muslims.' " [Al-Qur'aan,41:33]

* It is one thing to be a Muslim and another to be a Mo'min:

To be a Muslim is a basic qualification, in other words, you pass. To be a Mo'min is a distinction.

A Muslim has entered Islam , but does not have the Eeman that a Mo'min possesses.

Why is it that brothers and sisters act different online than in real life ? Why is it that brothers chat sisters up in private through the internet in the disguise of Islaamic Dawah? And sisters post half naked pictures of themselves whilst wearing hijab outdoors? Does Allaah not exist online?

Every moment of yours is being recorded & you will pay for it on Judgment Day!!

You are unnecessarily sinning when it is easy to avoid these sins. And then you wonder why is Allah not answering my prayers!!! If you make an effort to please Him, why will He deny you His favors??

* When will you take out those Pics Sisters??

(Once you post your image online, you can't take it back: Family, friends, strangers-Anyone can see it & save the image)

strike a pose!!! And then you've got everybody saying "Heyy!! You looking so nice there honey!!"

And now what happens?? Your head gets a little BIG, you're full of yourself, you start liking this attention.

But is this pleasing to Allah?? Is the attention of all the boys out there more important to you than the attention of Allah?? Wake up!! We need to refrain, We are Muslims!! We are the ones who have consciously submitted to Who???

Not to our society & desires but to Allah, the Creator of the entire Universe. And He has prepared a great reward for us, a great prize, the ULTIMATE PRIZE - JANNAH!!

"Get your eyes hypnotized to that prize"

Sisters don't just assume that you have already made it to Jannah...Paradise is not for free...You need to sacrifice your desires, you need to work hard to get yourself a seat there, & if you wanna make it to the topmost levels in Jannah with the Queens of Islam, then you REALLY GOTTA BE DIFFERENT THAN AN AVERAGE WOMAN !!

Orelse why should "you" deserve it & not someone else?? What is that "extra-factor in you" which is not in the average women ?? It is self-restrain & obedience to Allah's commands. Or else behave like the ignorant & get treated like how they will be treated on Judgment Day. The choice is yours.

If you do not mind that the whole world can see your pics , then your Hayaa is not functioning properly my dear Sister & Hayaa is a branch of Eemaan.

Would the wives & daughters of our prophets put themselves on display like this??

Whom are you imitating my dear Sisters? The jaahils (ignorant)?? WAKE UP!!!!

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever imitates a people is one of them.” Narrated by Abu Dawood, 3512

''Whosoever leaves something for the sake of Allaah then Allaah, the Mighty and Magnificent, WILL REPLACE IT with something better than it''

* Chatting with Non-Mahrams:

If you do not want to take out the Non-mahrams from your list then atleast do not chat them up!! Keep your chat off by clicking that Chat (Offline) button at the right bottom of your screen.

Flirting means that you’re saying or doing things on purpose that make the other person attracted to you. There’s no set criterion for what flirting is, but any girl knows what it is and how to do it.

You know that it all starts out with an innocent "Hello" 'how are you"..... & you end up talking to the opposite gender & damaging your life & faith!!

If you don’t want a guy’s advances, then don’t do anything to earn them. There’s no point in throwing yourself all over guys and trying to seduce half the world. You really only want to marry one guy, and you want to spend the rest of your life with him.

Yeah it may be a little hard, but this is your afterlife we’re talking about.

Would you act all giggly and stupid with boys or put up your pics & pose on Facebook if the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) could see you?

Or would you upload Music Videos & pass them on to others in the presence of the Prophet??

No, right? Because you’d feel like an ungrateful idiot for disregarding the religion that Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) took so much pain for just to deliver to you.

Well, imagine how ungrateful it is to act like a supreme idiot when Allah can see you all the time, and it’s really stupid to disregard the religion that Allah prescribed, the favors He’s bestowed upon you. How dumb is it to take the eyes that Allah gave you and do things with them that He told you not to (to look at haraam)? How much stupider is it that He can see you doing this, and you know it!

O Muslims! The restrictions imposed by our religion on the human being are not meant to torture or deprive him from the pleasures of this life. Rather, their aim is to elevate him from mere animalism to complete humanity. Thus, a Muslim will become capable of overcoming subservience and dependence, and his faith and piety will overpower animalistic lusts.

Whenever a society ignores such restrictions or belittles them, it jeopardizes and opens itself to serious problems and positions itself on the brink of destruction, as Allaah says that which means: "…And whoever transgresses the limits of Allaah – it is those who are the wrongdoers [i.e., the unjust]” (Al-Baqarah: 229) and also:

"…And who is more astray than one who follows his desire without guidance from Allaah? Indeed, Allaah does not guide the wrongdoing people." (Al-Qasas: 50).

"…Indeed, Allaah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves."

(I remind myself first before everybody else)

(Watch 5.55 minutes onwards -about facebook)

Muslims Ask: Why Am I On Facebook? (The Deen Show)

5)Stop Posting Actress Or Your Own Pictures

See what horrible stuff can happen , when you arrogantly disobey Allah!! Read the stories of girls in this article who had put up their pics on fb. And after reading it, don't think that this cannot happen with you!!! You never know. What will you lose if your pics aren't on fb?? Just a few compliments , right?? You wanna dare to risk your this life & the next just for a few compliments?? It's upto to you!! Stop sleeping & wake up before it's too late!!

Sincere reminder from Bro. Abu Mussab: "A Muslim woman is so modest, that the very concept of a strange man looking at her with enjoyment disturbs her essence and shakes her spinal cord. How is it then that some sisters today display their beauty on FB while smiling and wish to enter Jannah which Allaah prepared for the modest Muslim women?"

Advise For Muslim Sisters Who wearing trousers / Tight Or See-Through.

Advise For Muslim Sisters Who wearing trousers / Tight Or See-Through..

Praise be... to Allaah.

Our advice is that women should not wear trousers because this is the dress of kaafir women, so they should not wear them. A woman should only wear women’s clothes, the dress of her own country; she should not deviate from that. She should strive to wear concealing and modest clothes which are not tight or see-through, but which cover her and do not show the shape of the body, and which do not resemble the clothes of the kuffaar or of men, or a dress of fame and vanity.

Majmoo’ Fataawa wa Maqaalaat Mutanawwi’ah li Samaahat al-Shaykh al-‘Allaamah ‘Abd al-‘Azeez ibn ‘Abd-Allaah ibn Baaz (may Allaah have mercy on him), vol. 9, p. 43

Please take a look at this advice

My dear sisters in Islam,

Assalamu Alaikum WaRahmatul Allah Wabarakatuho

Please take a look at this advice, so that you can stay attractive and beautiful for the rest of your life.

1- To beautify your eyes, lower your gaze towards strange men, this will make your eyes pure and shiny.

2- To beautify your face and make it shiny, keep doing wudu minimum five times a day

3- To have attractive lips, always mention Allah and remember to speak the truth.

4- As for blush and rouge, "Modesty" (Haya) is one of the best brands and it can be found in any of the Islamic centers.

5- To remove impurities from your face and body, use a soap called "Astaghfaar".(seeking forgiveness of Allah) this soap will remove any bad deeds.

6- Now about your hair, if any of you has a problem of hair split ends, then I suggest "Islamic Hijab" which will protect your hair from damage.

7- As ! for jewelary, beautify your hands with humbleness and let your hands be generous and give charity to the poor

8- To avoid heart disease, forgive people who hurt your feelings.

9- Your necklace should be a sign to pardon your fellow brothers and sisters.

If you follow these advices given to you by the Creator, you will have a beautiful inner and outer appearance.

3 pieces of advise

3 pieces of advise

On the authority of Abi Qataadah (May Allah be pleased with him);

The Messenger (May Allah’s peace and blessing be upon him) said:

“Let not one of you touch his private part with his right hand when he urinates, nor should he clean himself with it, nor should he breath into the utensil.” (agreed upon by Bukhari and Muslim)

Benefits taken from the hadeeth;

* The prohibition of touching ones private parts while urinating.
* The prohibition of making istinjaa with the right hand.
* The prohibition of breathing into the utensils.
* The staying away from filthy and impure things, and if you have to touch it then to do it with your left hand.
* The making clear of the virtue of the right hand and its preference over the left.
* Holding fast to cleanliness in general, but even more so in food and drink that can cause health problems when polluted.
* The lofty status of the Legislation, being as though it commanded with every benefit and warned about every harm.

What is the siwaak for?Ruling on the Siwaak

by KIWI MUSLIM » Sun Jan 16, 2011 3:52 pm Asalamu'alaikum :brother: :sister:

What is the siwaak for?

On the authority of Hudhaifa bin al Yamaan;

That when the Prophet woke up from the night, he would wash his mouth with the siwaak. – (agreed upon by Bukhari and Muslim)

Benefits extracted from the Hadeeth;

* Confirming the fact that using the siwaak after sleeping is legislated in Islam. The reason for it is that sleep is a reason for, or leads to the changing of the smell of the mouth, and the siwaak is the tool that is used to clean it. It is from the Sunnah to use it in this situation, and also in all situations that cause a change in smell of the mouth.
* Affirming the fact that the siwaak is legislated for every situation that changes the smell of the mouth to something unpleasant.
* Also confirming the fact that cleanliness is something that is legislated in all matters in general, and that it is from the Sunnah of the Prophet and from the good mannerisms that should be practiced.

Ruling on the Siwaak

On the authroity of Abu Huraira;

The Messenger (May Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said:

“If I didnt see it as being a problem on my nation (The Muslims), I would have commanded them to use the Miswak for every prayer.” — (agreed upon by Bukhari and Muslim)

Benefits extracted from the hadeeth:

* The recommendation of using the siwaak and its virtue.
* The affirmation of the fact that the usage of the siwaak is actually from the legislation of Islam.
* The virtue of the wudoo and prayer that the siwaak is used for.
* That the only thing that kept him from obligating its usage, is that he did not want it to be a hardship upon the Muslims.
* To show the concern the Prophet (May Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) had for the Muslims, and that he feared for them.
* That the legislation is easy, and there is not found in it hardship.
* That protecting from the bad things is placed before getting some benefit.

Why a Muslim Must Grow His Beard…

Dear Brother in Islaam,You should know that Allaah, Most High says: " It is not for the believing man or woman, when Allaah and His Messenger have decreed a matter that they should have any option in their decision" (Soorah 33:36)
He, the Almighty also says: "And let those who oppose the Messenger’s command-ment beware, lest some affliction befall them or a painful torment be inflicted upon them" (Soorah 24:63)

From the above Qur`aanic verses, it is clear that we are obliged to obey all the command-ments of Allaah’s Messenger "and he has ordered us in several authentic hadeeth to grow our beards and has forbidden us from shaving. He said: “Trim the moustache and grow the beard and be different from the magiians (fire-worshippers).” (Narrated by Muslim)

When the Messenger of Allaah received two messengers from the Persian king, Kisraa, he observed that they had long moustaches and were beardless and said: “Woe to you! Who ordered you to do this?” So how would you feel, oh shaver, if the Messenger of Allaah were to turn away from you in disgust and say: “Woe to you! Who ordered you to do this?”

Allaah also forbids us from wilfully changing His creation; He says: "So set you [oh, Muhammad,] your face towards the pure Religion, with the fitrah [natural state] in which He has created mankind. No change let there be in the creation of Allaah" (Soorah 30:30)

Shaving the beard is an imitation of women; Allaah’s Messenger said: “Women who imitate men and men who imitate women are not from us.” (Narrated by Ahmad)“Shaving the beard is an innovation introduced to the Muslim countries by the Christians, who formerly invaded and conquered the Muslim lands.”

“How would you feel if the Messenger of Allaah were to turn away from you in disgust and say: “Woe to you! Who ordered you do this?”

The renowned Muslim scholar, Ibn ‘Abdil Barr said: “It is forbidden to shave the beard, only the efffeminate do so.” So, oh, shaver - according to the scholars, you are effeminate! In addition to this, ‘Umar Ibn Al-Khattaab, amongst others, would not accept the testimony of a person who shaved his beard. So, oh, shaver - your word is not acceptable in Islaam, you are untrustworthy!

“How would you feel if the Messenger of Allaah were to turn away from you in disgust and say: “Woe to you! Who ordered you to do this?”

So, after this, oh, shaver, do you still cling to your belief that growing the beard is “only a sunnah” ? May Allaah guide us all to the Straight Path.Shaving the Beard is an Act of Mutilation!

Imaams Ahmad, Ath-Thawri and Abu Haneefah agreed that if the beard is removed, it is an act of mutilation and that the one who removed it must pay the full diyah or blood money as if he had removed an eye or a limb of the victim. Imaam Al-Bukhaari narrates that the Prophet forbade robbing and taking property by force and he forbade mutilation.”

The great Muslim scholar, Ibn Hazm said: “They (the Muslim scholars) agreed that shaving of the beard is a form of mutilation, which is forbidden.” Moreover, shaving is disobedience to Allaah’s Messenger and disobedience to the Messenger is disobedience to Allaah, for he said: “Whoever obeys me, has obeyed Allaah, and whoever disobeys me, has disobeyed Allaah.” (Narrated by Al-Bukhaari)

Ibn Taimiyah, the great Muslim Mujaddid (Revivalist), scholar and Mujaahid said: “Shaving the beard is haraam (forbidden) - no scholar has ever permitted it.”Allaah, Most High says: "We sent no Messenger but to be obeyed by Allaah’s leave" (Soorah 4:64)

If you're looking for a spouse lower your gaze.

If you're looking for a spouse lower your gaze.

This may seem like a contradiction, but it's not. Looking for a spouse who has the right qualities and whom you are physically attracted to does not mean throwing out the obligation to lower the gaze for both sexes.

“Tell the believing men to lower their gaze and be modest. That is purer for them. Lo! Allah is aware of what they do” (Quran 24:30).

“And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and be modest, and to display of their adornment only that which is apparent, and to draw their veils over their bosoms...” (Quran 24:31).

“Scoping the territory”, from this perspective, would not be Islamically acceptable.

Imam Nur Abdullah notes that looking at a potential mate is recommended according to the Hadith in which the Prophet said: “When one of you asked a woman in marriage, if he is able to look at what will induce him to marry her, he should do so. ...” (Abu Dawud).

This means the two potential spouses can look at each other but not ogle or stare.

Abdullah also notes there is no limit on the number of times the two people can look at each other. However, both should fear Allah and remember the purpose of this is to satisfy the need for physical attraction to the person you are marrying.

He also notes it is not permissible for a man to see a potential wife without Hijab, since he is not her Mahram (a relative with whom marriage is not possible, or her husband). Abdullah says seeing her face and hands are enough to determine attraction.

Our beloved brothers, you are good. Sisters, you are also good. But the problem is Shayateen is Shayateen and he is very tricky. All the moments, he is plotting for misleading us. And this is why, we must avoid free mixing.

Narrated by Umar ibn al-Khattab, Messenger of Allaah {Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam} said:"Whenever a man is alone with a woman the Devil makes a third."...[Al-Tirmidhi 3118]

Tips: So we should always try not to be alone with a man/woman who is Ghair-Mahram to us and not even go close to Zina."Khalwat" is Haraam..

Brothers: All of you crave for Pious wives, right? Then why most of you are so much interested in immodest girls? If you have no modesty, why do you desire modest girls?

"Al-Khabithaatu lil Khabitheena Wa Al-Khabithoona lil-Khabithaati Wa At-Tayyibeena Wa At-Tayyiboona lil Tayyibaati"{Bad Women are for Bad Men and Bad Men are for Bad Women. And Good/Pious Women are for Good/Pious Men and Good/Pious Men are for Good/Pious Women.}[SURAH AN-NOOR:26]"

Bad statements are for bad people (or bad women for bad men) and bad people for bad statements (or bad men for bad women). good statements are for good people (or good women for good men) and good people for good statements (or good men for... good women): such (good people) are innocent of (every) bad statement which they say; for them is forgiveness, and Rizqun Karim (generous provision i.e. Paradise).
( ???? ????? , An-Noor, Chapter #24, Verse #26)

The good men are for the good women and the bad men are for the bad women.
The good men are for the good women and the bad men are for the bad women...!!!

Modesty or faith is a priceless treasure which only a true Mu'min can appreciate ...that's the same with girls ...No pious girl would find any immodest guy appealing, even if he is the most handsome, richest or popular guy anyone can find ......

But only an immodest girl would fall for such worldly pleasures and wouldn't care about his level of faith. May Allah bless us all Pious Single Muslim sisters with pious Husbands/Wives...
